Introduction
Hampstead and Yalding Cruising Club (HYCC) is a friendly
river cruising club based on the river Medway.
The club was formed in 1968, following an idea from the
owner at that time of Bredens Boatyard, Jim Breden, for a
family club on the River Medway, an ideal that is still
maintained. The clubs headquarters are now at Medway Wharf
Marina.
Since its inception the club has spread from its original
base and now encompasses members from both the non tidal
and tidal Medway, Thames, Essex rivers and the South Coast,
as well as being actively supported by Marina owners.
Events
The club organises about a dozen events each year, from fun
on the moorings to boat handling competitions, cruises -
both up river and tidal waters, social evenings, dances and
a treasure hunt. It also runs courses both on navigation
and VHF / DSC for members, is a strong supporter of the
Medway River Users Association, and through its members,
the annual Maidstone River Festival.

Events page.
